Academics Mission Statement
Also known as General Equivalency Diploma, the GED gives students that are unable to finish a regular high school course of study a way to receive an equivalent certification of life knowledge. This certificate or diploma is recognized by many just like a high school diploma. Often at risk teens struggling with life issues have problems completing a conventional high school program. Rebellion, peer pressure, ADHD, ADD or other issues cause problems.
We desire all Cadets to receive a full high school diploma, but in those cases where that is not possible we offer the GED program.
Along with the G.E.D. preparation and testing, cadets in both the regular high school and in GED prep have opportunities to learn life skills from experienced craftsmen, service people and other professionals that mave have specialization in a given skill.
Carpentry, electrical and other skills are learned as well as a good work ethic to help form the rest of the lives of our cadets.
